River Aire
West Marsh and Hirst Courtney washland levels have continued to slowly fall today, 02/03/20, and movement of water towards Temple Hirst from the washlands has eased. The risk of further flooding is reducing, however this warning remains in force as washland levels remain high. Flooding continues to affect roads in the area. River levels continue to steadily fall. No significant rainfall is currently forecast and tides will be falling for the next few days, which should allow levels to continue to drop. We are using pumps in the area to return water to the River Aire, and are inspecting embankments. We are working closely with our partners to review our ongoing response and our incident room remains open. Please avoid walking or driving through flood water. For road closures see https://bit.ly/3cbWhtH. To report property flooding, call 0800 80 70 60. This message will be updated by 17:45 on 02/03/20.

River Aire
West Marsh and Hirst Courtney washland levels have continued to slowly fall, therefore movement of water towards Temple Hirst from the washlands has eased. As levels remain high, the risk to properties in and around Temple Hirst remains. Flooding continues to affect roads in the area. Last night’s rain did not cause further water to enter washlands from the Aire. Scattered showers are forecast for the next few days, however we do not expect significant river level impacts. River levels should continue to fall, meaning that washlands will continue to drain. High tides will slow this process, but are falling so should not make river levels rise significantly. River and washland levels will remain elevated into next week. Our staff are pumping at Hirst Courtney to help remove floodwater. For support please call Selby District Council, 01757 705101. To report property flooding call 0800 80 70 60. We will update this message by 18:50 on 01/03/20 or if the situation changes.
